Alessandra Ambrosio in Zingara Swimwear at the Nextel Cancun Fashion 2010
The last edition of the 2010 Nextel Cancun Fashion had Alessandra Ambrosio as a guest of honor. The beautiful Brazilian top model opened the event wearing a piece from Zingara Swimwear’s new collection and then modeling key features from the other collections presented in this fashion show (more information here).

After the event, the model gave a press conference where she emphasized the importance that Mexican designers are beginning to have in the world fashion scene.
Alessandra Ambrosio is one of the most acknowledged top models in the world today. Native of Brazil, where she was born in 1981, this dazzling woman started her career as a model in the Brazilian edition of the “Look of the Year”, in 1996. Although she did not win, many important brands took notice of her beauty and attitude both facing the camera and the runway, and she slowly but progressively conquered the most renowned exponents in world fashion.
She has worked for campaigns and walked the catwalk for brands such as Calvin Klein, Revlon, Giorgio Armani, Gap; Oscar de la Renta, Christian Lacroix, Balmain and Christian Dior, among other fashion icons.
In 2010, her 13-year-old career finally obtained global recognition when her name appeared in the most important models.com rankings, an online site specialized in the subject. Today, Alessandra Ambrosio ranks 22nd among the world’s 50 top models, 5th among the Money Makers, and 5th among the top sexiest models! This year Alessandra was Prada exclusive in Milan, walked the catwalk for Louis Vuitton in Paris, and participated in Moschino and Loewe campaigns, among others. Last but not least, she charmed the most prestigious fashion editor today, Anna Dello Russo, and was portrayed in the cover of Vogue, Japan.

The young Brazilian also stands out for being one of the most best known Victoria Secret “angels”. During the last Victoria’s Secret 2010 Fashion Show, held in november in New York, Alessandra wore one of the most impressive wings of the night, adorned with black and white feathers with golden motifs. These enormous wings were nearly two-meter high and weighed nine kilograms.
